Preparations for this year’s shoeboxes have been going on a pace and by the time you read this all 60 boxes will have been almost completed ready for collection by the team from Meltham. Following a blessing in the Sunday Service they will set off to Eastern Europe with the Teams4U charity.
The format is as previous years,10 boxes each for boys aged 3-5,6-11 and 12+ :likewise for the girls making 60 in all. The contents will be as usual, with each box containing the following: stationery, toiletries, a ball ,a gift, socks and underwear, a stuffed toy , sweets ,Christmas card and novelties all neatly packed!! The boxes are ideal for children suddenly removed from home such as in the Ukraine or those in poverty and unable to afford what we regard as basics.
Due to unsettled situation in Ukraine, we will not know prior to dispatch where the final destination will be but can be assured , sadly , that there is always much more need than boxes available.
